“Long Ride” treats distance as part of the point. Coyote Island settles into the motion, letting the road stretch out rather than racing toward an ending. There is patience in the song’s shape and warmth in its sense of space. It feels built for windows down, thoughts wandering, destination temporarily negotiable. Not every long ride needs a shortcut. Some need a better soundtrack.
