Marmaduke Duke and “Rubber Lover” land like a left-field single everybody suddenly pretends they knew first. it feels built for sticky-floored clubs, burned CDs, and the kind of radio show that still thinks volume fixes everything.
The track snaps with wiry guitars, a punchy rhythm section, and a glossy, slightly unhinged sheen that keeps the edges sharp. It moves fast, with a rubbery bounce in the low end and a chorus that sounds engineered to ricochet off car windows.
Put this on when the weather turns muggy and your inbox looks rude. It is loud enough for a commute, strange enough for a late-night walk, and catchy enough to make you grin in spite of yourself.
