Black Rebel Motorcycle Club hits with "Shuffle Your Feet" like a fresh midnight single : scruffy, urgent, and too cool to sit still. If your headphones need a little dust and danger, this is the record-store answer.
Mellow
Tristan Prettyman and "Simple As It Should Be" feel like the cleanest left-turn on the radio . It sounds brand-new, like the kind of track you catch once and immediately file under “why isn’t everyone talking about this?”
Eels' Fresh Feeling lands like a surprise single that somehow already knows your mood . It sounds freshly minted, which is exactly why it feels essential right now.
Magnet turns "Where Happiness Lives" into the kind of surprise that sneaks past your guard and stays there. It sounds brand-new, but it already feels like the track everyone should be talking about this week.
My favorite Mellow songs from the past year.
